We are pleased to announce that Blackboard SafeAssign, Blackboard Sync and Blackboard Scholar have successfully undergone maintenance.
Updated hardware and network infrastructure
Increased capacity for all of these services

SafeAssign will have intermittent outages starting the morning of Saturday, October 10 and ending the morning of Sunday, October 11 as Blackboard performs maintenance. Please plan accordingly.
SafeAssign and Scholar will be down for scheduled maintenance on Friday, October 23 from 2:00AM until 6:00AM. Services will be completely inaccessible. Students will not be able to submit SafeAssignments and instructors will not be able to create or check SafeAssignments during this time period. The rest of Blackboard should remain unaffected.
The Blackboard Support Team will be at a staff retreat on Monday, September 28, 2009. E-mail will be checked periodically throughout the day, but support will be limited.

SOLAR will be unavailable starting Wednesday, August 19 at 5:00PM for upgrades. The system is expected to be back online by Thursday, August 20 at 2:00AM.
Why are we upgrading right before the semester starts?
1. We cannot upgrade while classes are in session. That gives us a very small selection of dates with which to perform the upgrade.
2. Blackboard will no longer support our current version, 7.3, after October. We have to upgrade before then to maintain continuous support, but [...]
Just a friendly reminder that Teaching, Learning + Technology is upgrading to Blackboard 8.0 on August 25, 2009! We expect the system to be down completely on that date from 8AM until 1PM.
