We are pleased to announce that Blackboard SafeAssign, Blackboard Sync and Blackboard Scholar have successfully undergone maintenance.

SafeAssign will have intermittent outages starting the morning of Saturday, October 10 and ending the morning of Sunday, October 11 as Blackboard performs maintenance. Please plan accordingly.
SafeAssign and Scholar will be down for scheduled maintenance on Friday, October 23 from 2:00AM until 6:00AM. Services will be completely inaccessible. Students will not be able to submit SafeAssignments and instructors will not be able to create or check SafeAssignments during this time period. The rest of Blackboard should remain unaffected.
SafeAssign is currently not accepting PDFs generated by Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.0.0 or any more recent versions (9.1.2 is most recent). We have reported this issue to Blackboard and are awaiting a response.
In the meantime, if you are running Acrobat 9:
do not convert your documents to PDFs using Acrobat 9. SafeAssign accepts Word documents (.doc [...]
SafeAssign service is currently unavailable. We are reporting the problem to the vendor and hope to have a resolution soon. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
Edit 4:02PM: SafeAssign service has been restored, but there may be intermittent delays in processing submissions.
The following maintenance has been scheduled for May 22nd 2009 from 3am EDT to 8am EDT. The Maintenance scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 3am - 8am EDT has been postponed until further notice. There will be no interruption in SafeAssign services as a result of this maintenance. We will notify you of any schedule changes, if any, as soon as it is available.

As part of Blackboard’s effort to maintain current versions of software, the SafeAssign services may be interrupted periodically on April 11, 2009, beginning at 12 Noon Eastern. The affected services will be restored by April 11, 2009 at 2:00 PM Eastern or earlier.
SafeAssign appears to be back, but processing delays still linger. Papers may take longer to process than usual. Please contact us if you experience any issues with SafeAssign.
